Five years ago the heavens fell at our ankles, and the sun no longer warmed us. Our minds were as malleable as soft clay. Expression failed us. Confusion overwhelmed us. Our dear ones, Chad, Courtney, and a grand-daughter whose face and fingers we never studied, were suddenly taken. Their laughter was silenced, but their testimony echoes in our hearts forever (Heb. 11:4).
To those who offered sympathy – we say, thank you! To those who prayed for strength – we testify that God continues to answer your prayers. To those who have been drawn to the Savior, to God’s Word or to a new resolve to live for the Lord – we bless you and count you as part of the treasure in heaven that continues to accumulate in our children’s accounts (Phil. 1:20).
While we have learned much since July 27, 2013, we have much yet to learn. Unexpected memories jump into our lives daily. Some bring smiles and some bring tears. We are worn with saying that we look forward to our heavenly reunion, but we do (John 14:1-6). Until then, we thank God for that which cannot be taken away. Our memories cannot be taken away and God’s promises are sure! Attached you will find two resources that we hope will be a blessing. Chuck and Linda Phelps

Bro. Chuck, We remember that tragic day all too well. We wept, prayed and grieved with your family for many months.
