Caleb Phelps

Picture
At 5 years old Caleb made a profession of faith. However, as the years went by he continued to have an overwhelming sense that he had never truly been saved. There is a profound difference between knowing the Gospel and believing the Gospel. One Wednesday night when Caleb was 12 years old he felt an overwhelming sense of his need to be saved. On the way home from church that night he told his mom he wasn't saved. Once they got home he knelt down next to his mom at the entrance to their home and accepted Christ as his Savior.

As he matured, he sensed the Lord working in his life and calling him into full time vocational ministry. Caleb went to Bob Jones University where he majored in Bible. While a student at BJU he served as a Resident Assistant in the Dean of Men's office for two years. Caleb also served as the President of the Ministerial Class during his senior year. Caleb is also one of a select number of students honored in 2013 as a "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities" for academic achievement, campus leadership, serving to the community, and potential for continued success. That same year Caleb received the Christian Leadership Award given to campus leaders at BJU who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating Christian character, a consistent testimony and inspiring their peers to live a more Christlike life. In May 2013 Bob Jones University announced that Caleb had earned the "Chancellor's Award" for his leadership on campus. Caleb loves to preach and has been able to do so at numerous school and youth camps and churches across the country. He has also been able to hold workshops at many conferences over the past few years.

In 2014 Caleb graduated from Bob Jones Seminary with his MA in Theology. Following seminary Caleb entered into full-time evangelism where he traveled across the country using the ministry name "Fanning the Flame." It was at this time that he met his wife Rachel. Following their marriage Caleb became youth pastor at Crosspointe Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. Caleb was blessed to serve the teens and families of Crosspointe Youth for three and a half years. During his time there he was blessed to be mentored by Pastor Rick Arrowood.

In September 2018 Caleb accepted the call to become the new senior pastor at Faith Baptist Church of Palm Bay, Florida.
