The events of July 27,2013 have impact people across the world. Through our trial God’s grace has been found to be sufficient for our every need (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Our sorrow has come like waves and has been hard to carry at times but since we know that Chad and Courtney are “absent from the body [and] present with the Lord,” (2 Corinthians 5:8) we “sorrow not as those who have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). We eagerly look forward to an everlasting reunion.Through this whole trial our family’s prayer has been that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ would be magnified whether by life or by death.
Chad and Courtney’s last week on earth was spent at Camp CoBeAc (a small camp in Michigan). At the beginning of the summer the camp asked my father to record a short video they could show to the teens that came to their camp each week. Dad took the time to shoot the video at our church and sent an unedited copy of the video to them. Camp CoBeAc then edited the video and prepped it to be shown every week for their campers. God worked in amazing ways through the video. So far more than 80 teenagers have accepted Christ as their Savior after watching this video. Life Is Short. Eternity Is Long. Live Like It.
