My Savior fair had come to earth in great humility. My guilt as His, my debt to pay, He came with grace so free. A servant now, like mankind made, He took my sins on Him. As on the cross He gazed on me, the light now seemed so dim. For He was emptied, My Jesus was emptied. He left heaven to become a humble man. He to redeem me, Left heaven for Calvary. Freed from the law, alive in Christ, Jesus was emptied. Now to the cross I bring my sin and view His broken frame. He suffers there, condemned to die, my sin has borne the blame. My heart is stirred, my tears are loosed, my guilt is felt anew. As Jesus turns and seems to say - "I did this all for you." For He was emptied, My Jesus was emptied. He left heaven to become a humble man. He to redeem me, Left heaven for Calvary. Freed from the law, alive in Christ, Jesus was emptied. Someday in heav'n all knees shall bow and thank Him for that day, When with His love and matchless grace, He tore the bars away. He rose again, defeated sin, and won the victory. Mankind can stand complete in Him because of Calvary. For He was emptied, My Jesus was emptied. He left heaven to become a humble man. He to redeem me, Left heaven for Calvary. Freed from the law, alive in Christ, Jesus was emptied. Now He's exalted. My Jesus is exalted. He's been given by our God that glorious name. Soon every knee shall bow, And every tongue confess, Jesus is Lord, He bore the curse. Christ is exalted! Posted by Caleb
