It’s important to remember that ignoring warning signs can have serious consequences.

Hi ,

( 1 John 1 : 5 ) states : ‘This then is the message which we have heard of him, & declare unto you,
that God is light, & in Him is no darkness at all.’

The verse is propounded nicely in this article.

This is a brief explanation about darkness.

A) Who brought the darkness _:

‘ The domain of darkness (Colossians 1: 13 ) is the power of satan. (Acts 26: 18) Who is the
‘ prince of the power of the air”. (Ephesians 2 : 2)

(2 Corinthians 4 : 4) says :’ The god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. ‘

B) What is darkness _:

‘Darkness, the way of the wicked.( Proverbs. 4:19 )’ ls the ruling, the cosmic powers, authorities & the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.’ (Ephesians . 6 :12 ).

‘ Darkness means evil works, wicked things.’ (John 3: 19-20)

Darkness practicises unrighteou sness. ‘Not standing in the truth, but lying.'(John 8 : 44 )
(Acts 5 : 3 )says:’Satan fills the heart to lie to the Holy Spirit .’

(1 John 5:17 ) states :’All unrighteousness is sin’.

Darkness is living in the carnal mind in sensuality, & orgies.’ (1 Peter 4 : 3 ), luring & enticed by own desire. (James 1 :14).‘
Desires of the flesh & of the mind.’ (Ephe. .2 : 3)

‘Lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, & the pride of life.’ (1 John 2 : 16)

‘Lawlessness.'( 1 John 3 : 4 )

‘Having no knowledge neither understanding. ( Psalm . 82 : 5 ) of the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.'( 2 Corinthians .4 : 4)

C) Darkness includes_:

1)’Unfruitful works.’ (Ephesians. 5 :11 )

2)’Unequally yoked with unbelie vers. ‘(2 Corinthians 6 :14 )

3) ‘Hating of brother.’ (1 John 2 : 8-11) states:’
Whoever says he is in the light & hates his brother is in darkness.’

4) Cursing father or mother. ( Proverbs 20 : 20)

5)’Works of the flesh such as ; fornication, lasciviousness,witchcraft, variance,strife,wrath emulations, , seditions, heresies, & uncleanness.’ (Galatians . .5 :19, 20 )

6)’Slandering, slaves to much wine.’ ( Titus 2 : 3

7)’ All malice, all deceit,hypocrisy,& envy.’ ( 1 Peter 2 : 1-2 )

8) ‘ Fights, passions & murder.’ (James 4 :1-17)

9) ‘Temptation’ ( Mark 1: 13 )

10)’ Cowardness, the faithless ness, the detestable, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters.’ (Revelation 21: 8 )

11)’False apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themsel ves into the apostles of Christ.’ ( 2 Corinthians 11 : 13 )

15)’ Friendship with this world, covetousness & adultery. ‘ ( James 4 : 4)

Walking in the Light (1 John 1:5-10)

I.  Because you must walk in the light, you must understand God’s purity (v. 5).

II. Because you must walk in the light, you must recognize your danger (vv. 6, 8, 10).

III. Because you must walk in the light, you must embrace the hope that is available (vv. 7,9).

About Us:

What People have to Say:

  • Revelation & Salvation
  • Holiness & Purity: The comparison of good & evil with darkness & light is familiar in the ancient world as it is today (Zoroastrianism & Gnosticism).
  • Doesn’t care about what you look at on the internet.
  • Doesn’t mind that your friends tell dirty jokes.
  • Is okay with your thought life being perverted.
  • Is cool with your judgmental and critical attitudes.
  • Verses 6 through 10 represent a series of five conditional (if…then) statements. In the original language, the point is this – If the first part of the statement is true about you, then the second part of the statement logically follows.
  • 3 of these statements, in verses 6, 8, and 10, warn of some very specific and intense danger that surrounds those who walk away from God. These are specific claims that were made by the heretics. John stands utterly opposed to each one of them. Sou should you.
  • The first danger is unveiled in verse 6…
  • They have no love (1:7)
  • They hate the brothers (2:9,11)
  •  They claim sinlessness (v. 8)
  • They deny that Jesus came in the flesh (v. 10)
  • They are lying about their relationship with God (not really in fellowship).
  • They are literally “not doing the truth.”
  • Wherever the denial of sin occurs, the denial of responsibility for actions follows.
  • Whenever sin is denied, truth, as an inner principle of life, ceases to exist in us
  • Verse 7: Look at the way the wording is phrased – “If we walk in the light…we have fellowship…and Jesus’ blood cleanses us.” Literally, Jesus’ blood is cleansing us. This is a continuous process known as sanctification. Where God erases the stain of sin by the grace of his son Jesus Christ.
  • Verse 9:  “If we confess our sin” – Confess = omologew – To say the same thing about our sin that God does. The proper attitude is not to deny it as the heretics did. “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  • Recognizing the purity of the God that they serve.
  • Heeding the warnings given to those who walk in darkness.
  • Embracing the hope that is available to those who would call on the name of Christ.
  1. God forgives us – cancels the debt that we own.
  2. God purifies us – removes the defilement and makes us like him (v. 5).

In the midst of a culture that was constantly changing –
In the middle of a people who were leaving the church (the secessionists) –
During a time when the roots of pre-gnostic teaching were beginning to take hold in the lives and hearts of those for whom he ministered,

“We pledge on this day (Wednesday, July 31, 2013) to fan the flame of their (Chad and Courtney Phelps) lives and work . . . To be here tonight and listen to the testimony of this dear family is profoundly inspiring.”
Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States
“God takes an event like this and works in infinite numbers of ways and in countless numbers of lives.”
Steve Pettit, President of Bob Jones University
“This is a trage-tunity. It’s a tragedy but also an opportunity to declare the glorious gospel of Christ.”
Joe Fant, Program Director at The WILDS Christian Camp
